I think I find it hard to think of something that people want to read about so I have decided to start a new Blog, it is on-topic about, weight loss, exercise, eating problems etc. It will be launched on 20 Aug 2012, which is exactly 6 months before my 40th Birthday. I have some goals to hit before my birthday so watch this space.Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-57697189723941849222012-06-17T20:16:00.000+10:002012-06-17T20:16:12.271+10:00Well blow me down and call me lazy, busy, pre-occupied, addicted to Facebook and Pinterest etc, but it seems my blog has suffered, 7 months since my last post, time to get you up-to-date in the world of the Griffin household.<br />
<br />
Where to start, so much has happened so I will give you the highlights of the last few months.<br />
<br />
March saw me head off on a well deserved trip to Bali with girlfriends, what a great time we had, shopping, partying, eating, relaxing, talking and laughing, oh the laughter. Some of these girls I have known for over 20 years and although our lives have taken us to live in different places and we have drifted apart geographically, it is amazing when we get together its like it was yesterday.<br />
<br />
I truly treasure the days I worked at Cumby (Cumberland Newspaper Group), in a mostly female environment and a relatively high turnover of staff, in my 10 years there I met some amazing people. So the trip to Bali affectionately know as "The Hangover III" was fantastic get together of 12 girls and 1 male (poor Pete), most of whom used to work together and some of their friends.<br />
<br />

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c7fCoyQp3u0/T91mxSqDYGI/AAAAAAAAAWI/fJg5fk2L22Y/s1600/IMG_2927+low+res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c7fCoyQp3u0/T91mxSqDYGI/AAAAAAAAAWI/fJg5fk2L22Y/s320/IMG_2927+low+res.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UeM8aazbASA/T91nuUlp-9I/AAAAAAAAAWQ/uJM_Hrda9rs/s1600/IMG_2944+low+res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UeM8aazbASA/T91nuUlp-9I/AAAAAAAAAWQ/uJM_Hrda9rs/s320/IMG_2944+low+res.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We stayed in these amazing Villa's in Seminyak, a short walk from the main street of Seminyak, we had a private Chef oncall to go shopping and cook us anything we wanted. Luxurious pools and padded lounges, beautiful staff who looked after us. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Being my first time in Bali, in hindsight there would be some things I would do differently, ie less shopping more pampering and relaxing, but a great time was had by all.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Back to the real world and what better to do than organise something to look forward to, a family trip to Dubbo Zoo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So on the Thursday before Mothers Day we headed off on a Road Trip to Dubbo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I pre-purchased tickets to the Zoo through NRMA Membership and got 10% off and also you get a 2nd consecutive day free. This was great so instead of doing 1 monster day at the Zoo and all of us getting tired and whingy we were able to go back on the 2nd day and see our favourite things again and a few of the things that we had purposely left for the 2nd day.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Day 1 we hired an AWESOME golf buggy (the highlight of Hubby's trip) which gives you 3 hours to cruise around the Zoo for the bargain basement price of $69 (a bit steep but pretty cool way to see the animals). I think I was a tad excited about going to the Zoo and we were 7th in line before the gates opened. Because we had pre-booked tickets we raced over to the Buggy hire and we were 1st into the animal enclosures, being that it was a Friday it was really quiet all day and we barely saw more than 5 cars parked with us at any given time.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Favourite animals had to be the Giraffe's, so tall and gentle, beautiful to watch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sx7Z9r9NfTs/T9135rFJNdI/AAAAAAAAAWc/tDe4sblmbp8/s1600/IMG_3076+low+res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sx7Z9r9NfTs/T9135rFJNdI/AAAAAAAAAWc/tDe4sblmbp8/s320/IMG_3076+low+res.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WUt8hgL9vdU/T9137rrDiWI/AAAAAAAAAWk/W_FM_k4zoxA/s1600/IMG_3105+low+res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WUt8hgL9vdU/T9137rrDiWI/AAAAAAAAAWk/W_FM_k4zoxA/s320/IMG_3105+low+res.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Day 2 still super excited this time we were 1st car waiting at the gate, we drove our car around the Zoo instead of getting a buggy so we could go slower (3 hrs in the buggy was just not enough), our favourite animals of the day were the Ring Tailed Lemurs and the Meercats.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OP3hD184WLk/T92gpmGzrsI/AAAAAAAAAWw/pnqNeEhykww/s1600/IMG_3336+low+res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OP3hD184WLk/T92gpmGzrsI/AAAAAAAAAWw/pnqNeEhykww/s320/IMG_3336+low+res.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3VqinK619I0/T92gwrNKVII/AAAAAAAAAW4/JvBU_46c6lA/s1600/IMG_3317+low+res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3VqinK619I0/T92gwrNKVII/AAAAAAAAAW4/JvBU_46c6lA/s320/IMG_3317+low+res.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We stayed at the <a href="http://cattlemans.com.au/" target="_blank">Cattlemans Country Motor Inn</a> and about 50m down the road was a caravan park, they had a fenced playground and a big bouncy pillow, I have always wanted to have a go on 1 of those and Ella loves to jump. We wandered over to the Caravan Park and were going to just sneak in and use their facilities, I got the guilts and instead went into the office to ask the lady if she would mind us playing for a little while, as it turned out she was greatful that we asked and was more than happy to let us have a play, a great way to kill some time in the afternoon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9n_CgGjA2IQ/T92rFaIjhGI/AAAAAAAAAXE/KEq8ctlazgU/s1600/IMAG0063(2)+low+res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9n_CgGjA2IQ/T92rFaIjhGI/AAAAAAAAAXE/KEq8ctlazgU/s320/IMAG0063(2)+low+res.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So all round our trip to Dubbo Zoo was great. Tips I would recommend, go on a weekday if you can and don't go in summer (aparently the animals hide out in shady corners), Autumn or Spring is ideal.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So there are the highlights our our last few months, I will do my best not to leave it so long between posts.</div>

I had such a great time planning and decorating Ella's Teddy Bear Picnic Party for her 2nd Birthday that I forgot to photograph a lot of it with my camera and some of these shots are blurry phone shots.<br />
<br />
<div style="border: currentColor;">
I bunched together as many small tables as I could find and used them to barricade off the back of the shed so the kids didn't get into anything they shouldn't have, and decorated them with either gingham tablecloths or just cut plastic tablecloths and then tore a square of gingham as a table topper. I went with as many odd colours as I could because I knew nothing was going to match.</div>
<div style="border: currentColor;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: currentColor;">
I managed to find a Scene Setter for the party which was a background of trees and balloons floating, absolutely perfect. Then I decorated the floor with 3 picnic rugs.</div>
<div style="border: currentColor;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: currentColor;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YCcHdvw2RMw/TrEtS8cvYcI/AAAAAAAAAVg/-Y6AnoKBJXU/s1600/IMG_1420+crop+low+res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" ida="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YCcHdvw2RMw/TrEtS8cvYcI/AAAAAAAAAVg/-Y6AnoKBJXU/s200/IMG_1420+crop+low+res.jpg" width="163" /></a>I mad a few table arrangements with fake flowers and tin pots, I bought the stuff to make the sunflower arrangement and the pink pot I already had and decorated it with leftover flowers from stuff I had from my wedding, (hoarding can come in handy sometimes).</div>
<div style="border: currentColor;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XnUhoIiQu0M/TrEtOG3EuvI/AAAAAAAAAVI/i9Fi9YtKInQ/s1600/DSCF6480+low+res+crop.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="139" ida="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XnUhoIiQu0M/TrEtOG3EuvI/AAAAAAAAAVI/i9Fi9YtKInQ/s200/DSCF6480+low+res+crop.JPG" width="200" /></a>Apart from the Cake (see previous post) I also had some more fun with food, making some things that I found on Pinterest (yes I actually made something that I pinned) a fruit rainbow and my MIL made mini marshmallow teacups. </div>
<div style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3h16ymJNEz0/TrEt29p1X_I/AAAAAAAAAWA/63E3aOWVDGg/s1600/IMG_1594+low+res+crop.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" ida="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3h16ymJNEz0/TrEt29p1X_I/AAAAAAAAAWA/63E3aOWVDGg/s200/IMG_1594+low+res+crop.JPG" width="161" /></a>We also had fairy bread, mini pikelets and baby Quiches (thanks MIL), homemade Sausage Rolls and baby Butterfly cakes (thanks mum) and I made Tiny Teddy/Milky Way/M&M racing cars, I even went a little crazy making a little Nascar style racetrack for them to drive on, complete with Mater in the middle for additional decoration. There was also other nibbles for the grown-ups Mars Bar slice, cinamon pastry scrolls (thanks Aunty M).</div>
<div style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;">
The party was a huge success, Ella had such a great time, she got heaps of annoyingly noisy presents, must thank and payback those parents, she also got great new books which I am thankful for as I could almost recite some of her favourites as I had read them that many times.</div>
<div style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;">
I must say a special mention to my dear dad, ma n pa had all good intentions of arriving at the party early to give me a hand, a few things went astray that morning and they were about an hour late. My father insisted that he bring back my excercise bike that he borrowed (months ago) and therefore had to bring the trailer. Somebody had parked across our driveway so he took it upon himself to 4wd across my neighbours front lawn, trailer and all. He neglected to see the water meter on the neighbours lawn and ran straight over the top of it. Water was gushing everywhere, meanwhile picture me trying to keep an eye on 14x 2 year olds running amok in my backyard. Thankfully he was able to turn off the tap and stop the gushing, while I got my plumber on the phone (yes I have him on speed dial for just this occassion) I couldn't wait to hear how much is Sunday Emergency callout rates were going to be. I have to be thankful for bad surf that day which made the plumber available to come and sort out the debacle on my neighbours front lawn. Now the comedy of errors could make this story go on for pages, however my father (the anal engineering type) stood over the top of the plumber with a bodgey leg (he pulled serious ligaments/tendons just that week), instructing plumber where to dig and basically how to do the repair. I can assure you my father would have fixed the damn thing himself if he didn't have a sore leg and done a better job of it. Unfortunately for him $280 later the neighbours had water back on, many apologies to the very understanding neighbours, plates full of cupcakes being handed over the fence as a peace offering.</div>
<div style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;">
So poor dad missed the entire party, got 1 cold sausage roll and got to sit down and rest his sore leg 3 hours later.</div>
<div style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;">

Dare I say I can tolerate watching it, if I have to. Oso is a "unique stuffed bear" he is like the James Bond of teddy bears, doing special assignments to help kids with simple tasks, such as wrapping birthday presents, borrowing books from the library, making party hats etc etc. Episodes are on YouTube if you feel the need to see him. Anyway I guess Oso is my go-to-guy if I need Ella to sit quietly while I cook dinner or do some housework. We have Austar Mystar and record episodes so he is on-call when we need him.</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pPABoae_aUs/TrEhe5yJjrI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/LpvamxF6N-4/s1600/images.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" ida="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pPABoae_aUs/TrEhe5yJjrI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/LpvamxF6N-4/s1600/images.jpg" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-W8jVUL7cVVM/TrEjjk2ixxI/AAAAAAAAAUo/gnZf7FzF5qA/s1600/DSCF6471.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" ida="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-W8jVUL7cVVM/TrEjjk2ixxI/AAAAAAAAAUo/gnZf7FzF5qA/s200/DSCF6471.JPG" width="150" /></a>When thinking of a theme for Ella's Birthday I wanted something where I could incorporate Oso, so it was decided to have a Teddy Bear's Picnic.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">I bought a Teddy styled Cake tin off ebay and went about baking 3 of Greens Indulgent chocolate mud cake mixes, I baked this mix last year and it worked and was tasty, so I went with what I knew.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ov5iMnxqMts/TrEivYfAKiI/AAAAAAAAAUY/CMauL0a1a6o/s1600/DSCF6466.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" ida="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ov5iMnxqMts/TrEivYfAKiI/AAAAAAAAAUY/CMauL0a1a6o/s200/DSCF6466.JPG" width="200" /></a>After doing a 2 hour cupcake decorating course and playing with Ella's play dough, I felt suitably qualified (NOT) to tackle this cake with Fondant. So off to buy my supplies, a hundred plus dollars later I was armed with mini rolling pins, fancy spatula's, circle cutters, gel food colours, fondant etc etc etc.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b4iGsAV5EMo/TrEj5JtAE2I/AAAAAAAAAUw/VYCX6RWnVdI/s1600/DSCF6478.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" ida="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b4iGsAV5EMo/TrEj5JtAE2I/AAAAAAAAAUw/VYCX6RWnVdI/s200/DSCF6478.JPG" width="200" /></a>The party was happening on Sunday morning so I scheduled to decorate the cake on Friday, lucky for me I work for my In-laws at their house, my MIL allowed me the use of her kitchen so armed with all my stuff and the baked cake I headed to work as per normal and spent the majority of the day answering the work phone whilst clad in my apron and up to my elbows in food colouring.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TRJ1boJpx3k/TrEkueE_W_I/AAAAAAAAAU4/vHY0oTK-akQ/s1600/IMAG0916+low+res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="128" ida="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TRJ1boJpx3k/TrEkueE_W_I/AAAAAAAAAU4/vHY0oTK-akQ/s200/IMAG0916+low+res.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">MIL must have seen the challenge ahead of me and donned her Apron and was a great help in bringing Special Agent Oso cake to life. I must say playing with Fondant was heaps of fun, I could totally get addicted to this, but will refrain as I already have 1 expensive hobby.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

It was a plush SAO, I wasn't sure if she would bond with him but of course she love love loved him, she talked to him like he was real, sat him on her lounge and literally carried him around everywhere, if I picked her up, I had to pick Oso up too.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

So about a month ago we converted her bed to a cot with side rails because she climbed out with a thud, this was not just a one-off event, as I was away at the time I told Jamie to put her to bed the following night to see how she went and again thud. So getting home that night we did the conversion and so retraining of going to bed had to begin. Instead of having to close her door we decided to put a childproof gate on and when she got out of bed she would still be secure. <br />
<br />
So putting her to bed I buckled and just gave her a bottle of milk to make my life easier and so that was our solution most days/nights, but I knew at some point we would have to wean her off this habit.<br />
<br />
Last Friday night I invited my friend Kim over for a scrap night and being that it was the weekend I was prepared for a few sleepless nights if necessary to wean her off the milk. So putting her to bed at her normal bed time 7pm, we were sitting on the lounge have a nibble on some pizza and we both see a little shadow at the bottom of the stairs, she had escaped the CHILDPROOF gate, kicked it out and it just popped open, she popped her head around the corner with a cheeky smile and came wandering in like nothing had happened.<br />
<br />
Well a lot had happened, the stairs in our house are death defying, steep and tight corner with a really narrow part on the inside, not a very practical handrail and she snuck down without so much as a whisper.<br />
<br />
So putting her back to bed re-securing the gate and then locking our 2nd gate at the top of the stairs and I think after the trauma to me I gave her milk and then it was all quiet.<br />
<br />
Later in the week Jamie woke at 5am to get ready for work, wandered down stairs and then clicked on the gas heater in the loungeroom and bam, Ella jumps up from her little lounge. We have no idea what time she got down the stairs or what she had been doing when she was down their alone, but again freaked me out.<br />
<br />
After dressing her 1 morning I put her on the ground in her room and watched how she made her great escape, she sat on the floor tucked both her toes under the gate, lifted it up and pop it came open, I was astounded, so now when we put her to bed we have to lock her bedroom door until she is asleep and then we open it. Every morning this week (all around 5am) she has made a quick and easy exit from her bedroom and apart from her escapade downstairs (when we forgot to lock the other gate) she comes in to our room and makes sure we know she is up.<br />
<br />
Tonight Jamie put her to bed and I hear a horrible scream, she had opened her wardrobe (which must have been only slightly open) and got stuck between her tallboy and the wall of the wardrobe. OMG what will she do next, I think she is giving me more wrinkles.<br />
<br />
On a positive note, we have replaced the bedtime milk with just water in a bottle, milk is only allowed in sippy cups and water is allowed in bottles any time day or night, it was time to change things up.<br />
<br />
I just hope her week of escaping is over and she gets back in her routine of sleeping til 6-7.Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-5564847419009773752011-07-24T22:55:00.002+10:002011-07-24T22:59:35.677+10:00Some scrappy stuffWell since looking back on my blog I realised it has been a long time since I shared some layouts, considering most of my readers are probably scrapbookers time to do some sharing. Hubby just got back from Singapore and was under instruction to purchase a new "handbag" Camera, he chose a Fuji <a href="http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/technology/digital-compact-slr-and-video-cameras/digital-compact-cameras/fuxp30be">Finepix XP30</a>, which is waterproof to 5m, I am still learning how to use it so I used the new camera to take pics of these layouts, it was a little glary from the first sunlight we had seen in over a week but I think it did pretty well.<br />
<br />
Hope you all enjoy.<br />

My latest addiction (2nd only to Facebook) is Pinterest, those that have it I am sure love it, those on Facebook who don't understand it or have no interest in it hate all the posts that pop up from Pinterest. I have had to stop posting everything I love on Pinterest onto Facebook as I got a little carried away and my husband threatened to "unfriend" me.<br /><br /><div>I am mostly loving it to get kids party ideas, however I have found some awesome "Quotes" like the 1 above, great ideas for cheaply redesigning my scraproom (watch this space), organising tips and tricks, room designs, books, recipes and just generally awesome stuff, it is so much better than your Internet Favourites because it has the picture of what you loved and then you can still click on the weblink that shows under it to get back to the website that the idea originated from. Fair dinkum genius .......... I love Pinterest.</div><br /><div>My other Internet addictions are Ebay, I think of something I want, book, kids toys, party supplies so I just go to Ebay and see if I can find it. Branching out from Ebay is Internet Shopping, because if I can't find what I am looking for on Ebay then I Google it and see if I can find it elsewhere. I mean where would we be without Google.</div><br /><div>Well bloggers enough buggerising around on the Internet perhaps it is time to go and play with some of my crafty supplies and do something productive.</div><br /><div></div><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-q89w-4peBC0/Tg2rGP00rHI/AAAAAAAAATI/Qke8jLk_e3I/s1600/46408420_w4CI5sZK_b.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 192px; HEIGHT: 141px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5624339633471270002" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-q89w-4peBC0/Tg2rGP00rHI/AAAAAAAAATI/Qke8jLk_e3I/s320/46408420_w4CI5sZK_b.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-67410486026926770622011-06-08T22:30:00.002+10:002011-06-08T23:12:06.844+10:00BB - Before BabyAfter reading an article today on the Kleenex Website I thought it had some very valid points and I thought I would copy and alter some of this lady's comments to my beliefs on how I was going to be the Mummy of the Year, BB - Before Baby. You will see in blue how things are actually going at the moment.<br /><br />1. I will never yell at my children in public, I will never have to; they’ll be so well behaved - <span style="color:#6666cc;">I don't yell I just speak in a pleasant affirming voice.</span><br /><br />2. My children will never leave the house in mismatched clothes or with a snotty nose - <span style="color:#6666cc;">only mismatched when daddy takes her out, but that snotty nose is like a tap that won't turn off.</span><br /><br />3. I’ll never frustrate the childless and take my children out to restaurants - <span style="color:#6666cc;">we have dined out often since she was born and thankfully she has only tossed 1 plate on the floor like we were in a Greek restaurant, but there have been many times whe have got the hell out without finishing our meals.</span><br /><br />4. I’ll lose my pregnancy plump easily because I’ll keep up my exercise schedule – after all, my baby will sleep through the night so I’ll have energy - <span style="color:#6666cc;">currently losing weight and baby is currently sleeping 11-12 hours. This has not been the case all the time, there have been many sleepless nights but mostly good.</span><br /><br />5. I won’t get plump when pregnant because I’ll adhere to a strict healthy, balanced diet. <span style="color:#6666cc;">Blah, I put on a blossoming 22kgs, mostly in the last 3 months.</span><br /><br />6. I’ll never bribe my children - <span style="color:#6666cc;">I already do it all the time.</span><br /><br />7. I will be able to go to the toilet with the door closed/have a conversation without being interrupted/go back to work after 6 weeks because babies sleep all day and toddlers are easily amused – at least mine will be - <span style="color:#6666cc;">no comment, except to say I was back working after 6 weeks, in hindsight that was the easy time.</span><br /><br />8. The TV will not be used as a babysitter - <span style="color:#6666cc;">its not the TV that is the babysitter, it's the Wiggles, they are real people.</span><br /><br />9. My children will never have tantrums in public, or at all for that matter - <span style="color:#6666cc;">modern day its not called tantrums, its called planking, and it happens all the time.</span><br /><br />10. My children will adjust to fit into my life, not the other way around - <span style="color:#6666cc;">minor modifications required, oh who am I kidding there have been major modifications.</span><br /><br />11. I’ll never resort to a dummy - <span style="color:#6666cc;">thankfully this is the 1 I we have succeeded with.<br /></span><br />12. My children will spend most of their days playing outside, not in front of a computer - <span style="color:#6666cc;">so far so good, she loves the outdoors.</span><br /><br />13. My children will not be branded by Disney - <span style="color:#6666cc;">its not Disney its Special Agent Oso.</span><br /><br /><p>14. I will never have to pretend to eat in order to encourage baby to eat - <span style="color:#6666cc;">she is a shocking eater, currently going through a really bad phase, relapsed into whinging for milk, gone off eating vegetable, does eat lots of fruit, won't even eat her favourites such as Lasagne, noodles etc. </span></p>Time to fix the broken baby or is it the broken Parents, time to read the parenting bible and get the discipline back on track. Time for change.Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-61599720491287475912011-05-05T20:37:00.002+10:002011-05-05T22:09:54.257+10:00Groundhog DayI had a Groundhog Day moment this evening, while starring at the tupperware cupboard strewn across the kitchen floor, following my daughter around the kitchen turning off Oven knobs, closing cupboards, changing yet another nappy, loading up the layers of PJ's, dosing my sick baby up with her antibiotics and some panadol and stepping over all the toys in the lounge room, it was just seeming all very mundane, then when I thought about some of the new and cute things she did today I know it makes it all worthwhile.<br /><br />I got snotty cuddles this morning, gross but cute, she loves me lots more when she is sick, then she must have started to feel better because she danced to the Wiggles, so cute I hit the rewind button and played the song again so I could giggle and video while she danced again. This is just a few of the adorable moments we had today, so I do hope that it is Groundhog Day again tomorrow.Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-10808736472599146282011-05-03T16:05:00.008+10:002011-05-03T16:43:29.926+10:00Mummy Daughter DayToday was a very productive mummy daughter day, we had a relaxing morning hanging in PJ's Ella watching a repertoire of her favourite shows on Disney channel while I sat on the lounge editing and selecting some photos to print.<br /><br /><br /><div>We headed of to Wollongong for some shopping my strategy was that she would fall asleep in the car on the drive and I would have a good hour of peaceful shopping. I didn't quite go to plan she was babbling talking to herself in the backseat. Today she finally learnt to answer a question properly.</div><br /><div>Q: What is your name?</div><br /><div>A: Ella</div><br /><div>I have been working on this for a few weeks and she finally stopped calling herself "mummy". We have been practicing all day to make sure she has finally mastered it - SUCCESS.</div><br /><br /><div>Since she didn't fall asleep in the car I opted for Plan B, push her vigorously in the pram around the shops until she fell asleep, this took about 20 mins and conveniently happened right near Spotlight. So I had a glorious time cruising the crafting aisles for about an hour, spent a little bit and now have a barrage of little projects to do.</div><br /><br /><div>Once she woke up she was a little whingy and we shared a Milkshake and then headed to the Park for a play.</div><br /><br /><div>On the way home she was very drowsy so I put her to bed, yay, so this is where she still is.</div><br /><br /><div>She has some suprises when she wakes up, a parcel arrived today which I am guessing is the toys from me sending in the Barcodes from the Huggies pack and last weekend Nanny and Poppy found her this fabulous toy kitchen at the markets with lots of bits n pieces and today I added to it with a Pizza kit. I was laughing at the logo on this toy . . . . look familiar?</div><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8gYpmEpcSvs/Tb-fVtbm3xI/AAAAAAAAASs/fRXEKU5Xyng/s1600/IMG_0905%2Blow%2Bres.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 230px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5602371656793644818" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8gYpmEpcSvs/Tb-fVtbm3xI/AAAAAAAAASs/fRXEKU5Xyng/s320/IMG_0905%2Blow%2Bres.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PDGsKUS-kB8/Tb-fVSm404I/AAAAAAAAASk/x5IrlgxM_ow/s1600/IMG_0904%2Blow%2Bres.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 237px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5602371649593201538" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PDGsKUS-kB8/Tb-fVSm404I/AAAAAAAAASk/x5IrlgxM_ow/s320/IMG_0904%2Blow%2Bres.jpg" /></a><br /><br />It is very fitting that I scrapped this layout this week and thought I would share it.<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ly8uEKn91Kk/Tb-fV4bOhAI/AAAAAAAAAS0/9ZWTYMF5YKo/s1600/IMG_0901%2Bcrop%2Blow%2Bres.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 314px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5602371659744838658" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ly8uEKn91Kk/Tb-fV4bOhAI/AAAAAAAAAS0/9ZWTYMF5YKo/s320/IMG_0901%2Bcrop%2Blow%2Bres.jpg" /></a>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-10616130847485945162011-04-30T17:52:00.003+10:002011-04-30T17:58:59.083+10:00My First White with 1<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hyJehlm5le0/Tbu__1HUG2I/AAAAAAAAASE/n0SxquyVysg/s1600/IMG_0890%2Bcrop%2Blow%2Bres.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 199px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5601281664875764578" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hyJehlm5le0/Tbu__1HUG2I/AAAAAAAAASE/n0SxquyVysg/s400/IMG_0890%2Bcrop%2Blow%2Bres.jpg" /></a> I did this layout earlier in the month, challenging myself with monochomatic green with a touch of white and someone suggested I enter it in the White with 1 challenge for this month. I have heard lots about this site and thought I better have a look and just in time for the April Challenge, coincidentally this month is White with Olive Green and twine, I have incorporated twine on the buttons. I am not good with products list but I have used: Swiss dots cardstock and thickers. I have been super busy as usual but here is a quick update on what we have been up to lately.<br /><br />Well tonight I have just updated my Blog design and layout and title photo, I wanted to simplify and make it more of a classic look.<br /><br />I had been trying to ramp up my exercise, seeing my trainer twice a week plus doing workouts at home, cycling and occasional swimming, that all stopped last Monday after I took a tumble down the stairs bouncing on my butt down about 5-6 stairs, it was 1.30 am and Ella woke up and I headed downstairs to get her a bottle of water, needless to say I was in a screaming heap halfway down the stairs, at the time I thought I hurt my thumb the worst, bending it backwards to stop me from falling, however upon waking in the morning I realised that my airbags had not deployed and my tailbone was excruciatingly painful. After a visit to the Doc, he established that it could be broken, it could be ligament damage but either way there was not a lot that can be done and therefore an Xray would be pointless. He told me no exercise for 3 months which was devastating, however a week after my fall I am feeling a little better and will assess my pain in a few weeks to perhaps start back with some light exercise.<br /><br />Ella is now 1.5 yrs old, we measured her height and she is now 78cm tall, she is still tiny and only just fully outgrown her OO size clothes, I keep buying her size 1's thinking she will grow into them but they fall off her, she is slow growing at the moment. I think part of her problem is she is too busy to eat, can't stop playing for food, I am not too concerned the last check-up with the Doc was all good.<br /><br />Jamie has been working ridiculous hours, sometimes over 60 per week (on the payroll) plus all the non-paid hours spent doing emails, reports and downloading photos and video footage. He has been exhausted, getting up at 4am and sometimes not getting home til after 7pm. He is off on Holiday to Thailand next week for 1 of his best mates Weddings so he will hopefully get some time to relax and enjoy not working.<br /><br />We managed to have a little bit of family time over the weekend, catching up with our friends Cindy, Jeremy and their little boy Brae who is a couple of months younger than Ella, we joke that they will be getting married when they are older. We had a few nibbles and beverages and a lot of laughs. We also had brunch with my parents and saw Jamie's parents several times over the weekend including Easter Sunday for Ella's 1st Easter Egg Hunt, she was very cute carrying her little basket around.<br /><br />I am about to increase my work days to 4 per week, the only condition is Ella is coming to work with me on a Thursday and Nanny is going to mind her, we will trial this over the next few months to see how this goes.<br /><br />Oh and how could I forget that I attended GREAT FRIDAY at Scrapbooking Delights, a full day of scrapbooking, I got there at about 11.30am and after chatting for about an hour I finally <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7LYOPXHpArc/Tba2nqIpL8I/AAAAAAAAARc/h5MYC4acAjY/s1600/IMG_0860%2B%2Bcropped%2Blow%2Bres.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 318px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5599863979123486658" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7LYOPXHpArc/Tba2nqIpL8I/AAAAAAAAARc/h5MYC4acAjY/s320/IMG_0860%2B%2Bcropped%2Blow%2Bres.jpg" /></a>started to get my mojo and ended up completing 5 layouts. Here are a couple that I did.<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H5sau0jB14w/Tba2oQHc4GI/AAAAAAAAARs/extsfHoSwAY/s1600/IMG_0858%2Blow%2Bres%2Bcropped.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5599863989319032930" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H5sau0jB14w/Tba2oQHc4GI/AAAAAAAAARs/extsfHoSwAY/s320/IMG_0858%2Blow%2Bres%2Bcropped.jpg" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-paFDJ0zgYf8/Tba2n63MlMI/AAAAAAAAARk/4lRQgkc2nrQ/s1600/IMG_0856%2Blow%2Bres%2Bcropped.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5599863983613711554" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-paFDJ0zgYf8/Tba2n63MlMI/AAAAAAAAARk/4lRQgkc2nrQ/s320/IMG_0856%2Blow%2Bres%2Bcropped.jpg" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nHkhaUqLUoQ/Tba2okLH2bI/AAAAAAAAAR0/YdJxvIhUKEY/s1600/IMG_0854%2Bcropped%2Blow%2Bres.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 314px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5599863994703141298" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nHkhaUqLUoQ/Tba2okLH2bI/AAAAAAAAAR0/YdJxvIhUKEY/s320/IMG_0854%2Bcropped%2Blow%2Bres.jpg" /></a>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-1039416057205407882011-02-15T20:49:00.003+11:002011-02-15T21:21:47.255+11:00Life is busy<div><div><div><div>Happy New Year everyone, belated I know but that is how hectic things have been. </div><div> </div><div>My word for the Year is "Positive", keep a positive attitude, not as my husband would say "I am positive that I am negative", I am sincerely going to be more positive this year.</div><div><br /></div><div></div><div>I took some time off (if you could call it that) over Christmas, supposed to be 3 weeks however still had to go into the office every Friday to do the payroll and a few little bits and pieces. The only bonus was I kept Ella out of Daycare for the 3 full weeks and got to take her to work with me. Very distracting hearing her running wild through the house, but aparently she was all under control with Hillbilly Nana (affectionate name for Nana Griffin who is learning the Banjo).</div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RDjbalQJowg/TVpP-KN9DfI/AAAAAAAAAQM/VHLbosmQ3Ro/s1600/IMG_0346%2Blow%2Bres.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5573855418137775602" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RDjbalQJowg/TVpP-KN9DfI/AAAAAAAAAQM/VHLbosmQ3Ro/s320/IMG_0346%2Blow%2Bres.JPG" /></a><br /></div><div></div><div>We took some time to head down the coast to the Holiday house and enjoy time with our friends Adam and Checka and stayed there over New Year. Last year I had to wake her up and she snoozed on her bouncer while I opened her presents. This year I am pretty sure she will be doing the waking and if today is any indication, she will be opening her own pressies.</div><br /><div></div><div>Today whilst I was wrapping the last few gifts I allowed her the rare opportunity to hang in the room with the Christmas tree and all the presents. She toddled around playing with rolls of paper, no harm I thought, then she picked 1 of her own presents out of her sack, again no harm I thought, well within a few seconds I hear the tearing of paper and she had thankfully got the boring parcel of new bibs and not toys, so she was bored with the contents of that 1. 2 baubles ripped off the tree and a strand of beads later she was removed from the room with hysteria that only watcing the Wiggles could repair.</div><br /><div></div><div>So in the last few months we have also had an Epic Farmyard themed first birthday party, about 50-60 people an abundance of food, my first birthday cake I have made in a very very long time and a fabulous day had by all, especially the birthday girl.</div><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TRMh4U5RsqI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/gD355afNkLo/s1600/IMG_9541%2BBW.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5553820017043288738" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TRMh4U5RsqI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/gD355afNkLo/s320/IMG_9541%2BBW.jpg" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TRMh38IITmI/AAAAAAAAAPI/GkXeTQ1ACXw/s1600/IMG_9731.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 214px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5553820010394701410" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TRMh38IITmI/AAAAAAAAAPI/GkXeTQ1ACXw/s320/IMG_9731.jpg" /></a><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>Jamie and I have also lost over 20kgs each and are still going and are doing our best to fit in some excercise to keep the weight coming off.</div><br /><div></div><div>Lots more happening but I won't bore you all with a big long post, will just try try try to do more little updates for you all.</div><br /><div>So to finish off I would like to Wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a super happy new year for 2011 and I will leave you with these cute pics taken by my friend Kim Arnold for Christmas.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TRMlzPn56JI/AAAAAAAAAPY/-LrzaCkJtQg/s1600/christmas%2Bcard%2Bphotos%2B%252812%2Blow%2Bres.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 214px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5553824327775414418" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TRMlzPn56JI/AAAAAAAAAPY/-LrzaCkJtQg/s320/christmas%2Bcard%2Bphotos%2B%252812%2Blow%2Bres.jpg" /></a></div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TRMlzdXuVoI/AAAAAAAAAPg/Ps4myh6etbU/s1600/christmas%2Bcard%2Bphotos%2B%252879%2Blow%2Bres.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 214px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5553824331465643650" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TRMlzdXuVoI/AAAAAAAAAPg/Ps4myh6etbU/s320/christmas%2Bcard%2Bphotos%2B%252879%2Blow%2Bres.jpg" /></a><br /><br /></div><div></div><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-58433995620251678822010-07-31T15:14:00.005+10:002010-07-31T15:35:54.836+10:00Naughty Naughty<div><div>Well I broke my own promise about blogging more regularly but I think I have a few good excuses.</div><div></div><br /><div>Since last post I have sold my Mortgage Choice Franchise and started re-organising my work days to fit in a new job and helping out with the old.</div><div></div><br /><div>I am staying on with Mortgage Choice doing loans for family and friends and keeping all my qualifications and accreditations current, so yes anyone can still call me for a loan. But given that I am a contractor with the new owner I can work my own hours from home or the office or where ever I may be at the time and not being the owner is a lot less stressful. I have noticed wrinkles disappearing over the last few months.</div><br /><div></div><div>I have also started working with Jamie's company Southern Commercial Divers, working with MIL an FIL and hubby can be challenging at times. Love them all to bits but working with relatives is another story. There are some benefits, MIL makes me cups of T and lunches when I am there. We have been challenged to get all the company records up to scratch to get the company Quality Assurance certified and finally on Friday it came through.</div><div></div><br /><div>My baby is growing so fast, she is 9.5 months old now and I am getting some ideas together for her 1st birthday party. She is a very good crawler now and is pulling herself up on everything and walking around the furniture. She has 2 adorable teeth on the bottom. Although over the last month she has been a little sick with an Inflamed Throat and is currently finishing her second round of anti-biotics, she has had 2 good nights uninterupted sleep so lets hope it stays like that and she gets back sleeping through the night. Here is a pic of my baby last week playing at the park with her friends.</div><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TFO1L_fLexI/AAAAAAAAAO4/9tUHZjrnMDs/s1600/IMG_9107+low+res.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 214px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5499938787574905618" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/TFO1L_fLexI/AAAAAAAAAO4/9tUHZjrnMDs/s320/IMG_9107+low+res.jpg" /></a>I have been doing a bit of scrapping and I am currently working on an Off-The-Page project, something I very very rarely do, so will post it up when finished.<br /><div></div><br /><div>I haven't had time to photograph my layouts lately so will try and do that tomorrow and post some up for all to see.</div><div></div><br /><div>Well I am off to get organised for a Midnight Crop at Scrapbooking Delights, til next time.</div></div>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-43295349079471651722010-05-22T10:44:00.007+10:002010-05-22T11:09:19.078+10:00Layouts from Sanctuary Point getaway<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S_cuamcbqNI/AAAAAAAAAOo/S1hmPh4izVs/s1600/IMG_9075+edit.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 261px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5473894906623404242" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S_cuamcbqNI/AAAAAAAAAOo/S1hmPh4izVs/s320/IMG_9075+edit.jpg" /></a><br /><div>Here are a few of the 11 the layouts I completed last weekend at Sanctuary Point. I want to apply for more DT stuff so updating my blog more regularly I think might help.<br /><br />I am currently at my in-laws holiday house with a bunch of friends having a mini Scrap retreat, it is a fab location on the lake at Sanctuary Point, I am the only 1 awake currently and am about to head up the shops for some fresh bread for breaky. Some of us finished up at 2am and I was up at 7am, where is their dedication, 5 hours is plenty of sleep at a retreat.<br /><br />I have completed 3 layouts so far including a double layout of the Pink Concert (finally). I am currently working on 2 Easter layouts both 90% complete but had to put them aside last night before bed because I think I lost my mojo, hopefully things will look clearer this morning.<br /><br />I will share with you the last message I got from my darling husband before he went to bed:<br />"You know what I was thinking today, I want to grow old with you"<br /><br />It brought a tear to my eye. Can you believe that.<br /><br />I told the stupid bitch if she had have taken 2 mins to reply to my email or a message in Oct last year to say the parcel hadn't been received it would have saved us all a headache. I also mentioned that a bit of customer service wouldn't go astray. She said they were short staffed, I said what for the last 6 months. As a business owner myself if I ever didn't have time to reply to an email I would leave it in my inbox until I had 5 mins to deal with it, not block it.<br /><br />She said people claim refunds for items they never even ordered. It took for me to go to Dept of Fair trading on her ass for her to even answer the phone and consider that maybe I was telling the truth.<br /><br />Put a link on your blog to this Post to spread the word, this woman is an idiot.<br /><a href="https://www.dangerouscurves.com.au/default.aspx"></a>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-27359358378882545612010-04-17T18:21:00.004+10:002010-04-17T18:31:00.783+10:00New CreativityLast night I had some great friends Cass and Kim come over for what was supposed to be scrapbooking, but turned into just being crafty in general, I did 1 layout in between gossiping and having a good laugh. <div><br /></div><div></div><div>Here is the 1 I did last night for the Scrapbooking Delights April sketch challenge on Facebook.</div><div><br /><br /></div><div></div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S8lwT_YnDKI/AAAAAAAAANQ/fBCnIEII1vw/s1600/IMG_9032+edit.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5461019511897918626" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 318px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S8lwT_YnDKI/AAAAAAAAANQ/fBCnIEII1vw/s320/IMG_9032+edit.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div>Then today my little angel had a couple of big sleeps over 1 hr each time so the second time she had a nap I jumped at the chance to do another layout. </div><div> </div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S8lxK1QmBeI/AAAAAAAAANY/0K7vF4nc390/s1600/IMG_9034+edit.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5461020454072747490" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 397px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S8lxK1QmBeI/AAAAAAAAANY/0K7vF4nc390/s400/IMG_9034+edit.jpg" border="0" /></a>Here is 1 I did from an Inspired Blueprints sketch.</div><div> </div><div>Will hopefully I will get a few more done tonight, watch this space.<br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-89706727417106535932010-04-06T16:45:00.001+10:002010-04-06T16:47:26.466+10:00BargainsHi all out there in Blogland, check out this site for all your Scrapbooking bargains.<br /><br /><a href="http://scrappybargains.blogspot.com/">http://scrappybargains.blogspot.com/</a><br /><br />Check it out all 1 off stuff at rock bottom prices.Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-27648942949142478512010-03-28T20:06:00.004+11:002010-03-28T21:25:01.394+11:00Retreat ReviewWell I have just gotten back from a Scrapgirls Retreat at Castlereagh (Penrith). My first night and weekend away from Ella. First things first I got through 15 layouts and 6 pages for Ella's mini 8x8 album. 2 of my pages were chosen as winning layouts. 1 was their kit challenge and the other was a 45 minute challenge, where you get 10 mins to prepare what photos and papers etc you are going to use and then 45 mins to do the layout and I must say some of my best work under pressure, it really helps to have a cute subject and good photos (both my winning layouts had photos by Kim Arnold).<br /><br />My mission was to not spend any money in the store at the Retreat and use all the product new and old that I already had in my stash, for that reason I took heaps of stuff with me. I succeeded (mostly) I was only tempted by $0.50 American Craft pens and bought 8 of those for a total shop spend of $4 plus a few cans of coke etc for $6, so only $10 out of pocket. I was happy with that.<br /><br />Daddy and Ella had a great bonding weekend, baby was well fed, clothed, clean and happy, house like a bomb had hit, despite the cleaning lady coming Friday. But it didn't really matter, the chance to get away to scrap for 3 days and 2 nights is worth coming home to baby bottles, baby food and toys everywhere and clothes still on the line. Daddy is sitting next to me saying how tired he is. I missed them both like crazy, thank goodness for mobile phones and MMS pics arriving all weekend.<br /><br />Well here are a few of my layouts that I did over the weekend, not photographed all that well but I guess you get the idea.<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68qiArA5gI/AAAAAAAAANI/Kt6Q1y66fzA/s1600/IMG_8942+edit+low+res.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453624437553292802" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 340px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 336px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68qiArA5gI/AAAAAAAAANI/Kt6Q1y66fzA/s400/IMG_8942+edit+low+res.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68p0bE3asI/AAAAAAAAANA/MCnynQqO36U/s1600/IMG_8945+edi+low+rest.jpg"></a><br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68pzw-cGuI/AAAAAAAAAM4/o5fWa6A9rHU/s1600/IMG_8943+edit+low+res.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453623643065817826" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 336px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 336px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68pzw-cGuI/AAAAAAAAAM4/o5fWa6A9rHU/s400/IMG_8943+edit+low+res.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />This was my "Winning" 45 min Challenge layout.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div><br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68pzlWc_aI/AAAAAAAAAMw/C35OVJwYoJU/s1600/IMG_8945+edi+low+rest.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453623639945313698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 394px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68pzlWc_aI/AAAAAAAAAMw/C35OVJwYoJU/s400/IMG_8945+edi+low+rest.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />This was my winning layout from the Challenge Kit we received.</div><div> </div><div><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68py_vI6RI/AAAAAAAAAMo/7kaIYq8R4pc/s1600/IMG_8948+edit+low+res.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453623629848307986" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 336px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 337px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68py_vI6RI/AAAAAAAAAMo/7kaIYq8R4pc/s400/IMG_8948+edit+low+res.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />These 2 layouts above and below are for the Scrapbooking Delights facebook Sketch Challenge<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68py4UV0UI/AAAAAAAAAMg/986ujwY8PCg/s1600/IMG_8950+edit+low+res.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453623627856859458" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 339px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 336px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S68py4UV0UI/AAAAAAAAAMg/986ujwY8PCg/s400/IMG_8950+edit+low+res.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />So it appears that I am keeping my once a month Blogging routine, so until next month, bye.<br /><br /><br /></div></div></div></div>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-84572521245561952522010-02-22T13:25:00.003+11:002010-02-22T14:03:01.082+11:00Once a month BloggerWell as I have been a bit slack, pre-occupied, busy, you name it, it appears that I might become a once a month blogger. <div><div></div><br /><div>So much has happened and February is always a busy month for us.</div><br /><div></div><div>I am back into full swing with work doing 3 days a week in the office with miss Ella in Childcare and then 2 days a week fielding calls and emails from home whilst taking Ella to swimming, library, shopping or whatever other event we have planned on our 2 days off. Weekends we try and get in some quality family time whilst doing the mundane chores like the never ending lawnmowing, washing and tidying up as well as socialising.</div><br /><div></div><div>Valentines day was Ella's Christening, we ventured up to the Church in Camden where we were married and then back to our place for a roast meal, it was a lovely day although I was a little stressed out getting the food organised, sorting Ella out and making sure we got some good photos and trying to get her to have a little bit of sleep. It all worked out in the end even with the rain. The kids didn't seem to mind the wet weather and the day ended with a super soaker fight with my nephew Isaac and the kids next door, it was amusing to watch. A big thanks to all my friends and family for their help with the day and all the beautiful presents she got.</div><div>My little angel looked beautiful in her little Christening dress.</div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5440896863126621442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 268px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S4Hy3rIzDQI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/2QinsJCcQls/s400/ella%27s+christening+(18+of+96)+low+res.jpg" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5440896865203321842" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 268px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S4Hy3y36-_I/AAAAAAAAAMY/lf2SlxtVSZI/s400/ella%27s+christening+(21+of+96)+low+res.jpg" border="0" /><br /><div></div>So until next month..........<br /><br /><div></div></div>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-80190206220655739442010-01-13T22:26:00.002+11:002010-01-13T22:37:13.140+11:00ABC's of MeTotally copied this from Lisa's blog who coppied it from Cassie's blog...feel free to copy and paste.<br /><br />ABC's of me<br /><br />A - Age: 36<br />B - Bed size: King, yeah baby<br />C - Chore you hate: Putting clothes away<br />D - Dog's name: don't have 1 yet<br />E - Essential start your day item: Deodorant<br />F - Favorite color: Fuschia<br />G - Gold or Silver: gotta be Gold<br />H - Height: 168cm<br />I - Instruments you play(ed): Keyboard with the follow the lights, I was rockin'<br />J - Job title: Mortgage Broker<br />K - Kid(s): Ella 12 weeks 5 days old<br />M - Mum's name: Lynne or Barbie because my dad's name is Ken and they have the real life big ass Barbie bus lol.<br />N - Nicknames: Rach, Rachy Roo, F*ckin Legend (well that was a 1 time Hens night thing)<br />O - Overnight hospital stay other than birth: false alarm apendix<br />P - Pet Peeve: Husbands bad hearing and having to repeat myself.<br />Q - Quote from a movie: I feel the need ......... the need for Speed<br />R - Right or left handed: Right<br />S - Siblings: Brother - Jamie<br />T - Time you wake up: when Ella wakes up anytime from 4.44-7.11 at the moment.<br />U - Underwear: Very comfortable nanna knickers and gutsuckers depending on the outfit.<br />V - Vegetable you dislike: do you want the list, but surprisingly I actually like brussel sprouts.<br />W - Ways you drink your coffee: I don't drink it at all, hot chocolate or iced chocolate are my social choice.<br />X-rays you've had: spine and foot today and plenty of others before today.<br />Y - Yummy food you make: Date and walnut loaf<br />Z - Zoo favorite : MonkeyRachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-52672213403614522632010-01-04T21:03:00.004+11:002010-01-04T21:11:43.408+11:00Some more layoutsWell a new year and a new scrapbook subject and the bad summer TV have done a lot for my layout production, here are a couple I have done over the last few nights. I am trying to use a mix of old and new product to clean out my old stuff. The first is an Inspired Blueprints sketch using the She's Savvy December kit from Scrapbook Savvy. 2nd is another IB Sketch and the 3rd is using old stuff from a sketch that I can't remember where I found. My photography of the layouts does not really do them much justice.<br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422824454136382354" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 395px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S0G-HBQZw5I/AAAAAAAAAL4/pgBMJMFsCBM/s400/IMG_8706+festive+baby.jpg" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422824462875316178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 380px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S0G-Hhz7T9I/AAAAAAAAAMA/VrmwAw_iDJk/s400/IMG_8708+itsy+bitsy.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422824472176820530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 392px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/S0G-IEdlATI/AAAAAAAAAMI/UHftAHPXUVk/s400/IMG_8707+santa+photo.jpg" border="0" />Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8064290709016540360.post-13745107577894218292010-01-01T20:24:00.004+11:002010-01-01T20:34:50.765+11:00Happy New Year<div><br />What a year 2009 has been, a rollercoaster of change all for the better. Here has what has happened in my world<br /><br />* Found out I was pregnant.<br />* Endured the 9 months of bearing a child (there was some whinging involved).<br />* Gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Ella.<br />* I grew more in love with my husband every day.<br />* Had my first extended time off work (3 months) since I was 16.<br />* Enjoyed many friends company new and old.<br />* Got fatter (I think it comes with the territory of being pregnant)<br />* Spent too much money, oh well its only money.<br /><br />But overall had a great year. I can only imagine what 2010 will bring.<br /><br />Happy New Year everyone.<br /><br />Here are a couple of layouts I did recently. <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/Sz3BdKTrIAI/AAAAAAAAALw/PrD12uuWsJ4/s1600-h/IMG_8515+edit.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421702233151184898" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 348px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/Sz3BdKTrIAI/AAAAAAAAALw/PrD12uuWsJ4/s400/IMG_8515+edit.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><div><br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/Sz3A__b7vRI/AAAAAAAAALo/meVhzc3Odok/s1600-h/IMG_8510+edit+.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421701732016831762" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 354px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PEjul7qI6r8/Sz3A__b7vRI/AAAAAAAAALo/meVhzc3Odok/s400/IMG_8510+edit+.jpg" border="0" /></a></div>Rachael Griffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09587760476314806960noreply@blogger.com1
